Krewe of Alegria accepts new member applications for ACTIVE and SOCIAL Regular Membership from May 1st to July 31st, this allows for ample time for design and fabrication of our custom costumes.
August through December 15th we accept applications for ladies to join us as a "Member-in-Waiting". This enables you to experience parading with us and learn about Alegria membership firsthand. Note that up to $100 of your parade fee is applied toward membership fees the following parade season. (Reference: Total fees for new ACTIVE members are $550.00 this includes a $100.00 application fee, and SOCIAL membership fees are $750.00 including a $100 application fee and requires officer approval.)
Alegria is an all-female krewe and we invite gentlemen to accompany our Lady Pirates as companions or "Mates" for parades. Two parade sponsoring krewes namely, Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla and Krewe of Sant' Yago, have notified Krewes about their decisions to restrict 2024 parade participation to krewe "members "only - NO guests will be permitted.
Ladies and gentlemen wishing to walk with Alegria in these parades - Children's Gasparilla Parade, Gasparilla Day/Parade of Pirates, or Sant' Yago Knight Parade - must complete an online application to be considered as a "Member-in-Waiting" or a "Mate".

Please complete the application (at bottom) to be considered as a "Member-in-Waiting" or a "Mate". Following review and approval, you will be invoiced for corresponding fees. Full payment is due by Friday, January 5, 2024 to walk with us in the Children's Gasparilla Parade, Gasparilla Day Parade, or the Illuminated Knight Parade. Please be aware that all parade fees are non-refundable. In the event of an emergency or unforeseen event which prevents your participation, Alegria Officers have discretion to approve a credit for the 2023-24 parade season. |
Terms By submitting this application to participate in a parade with the Krewe of Alegria I agree to abide by the rules and by-laws of the Krewe. I affirm that I will conduct myself at all times in a manner that will not damage the name or reputation of the Krewe of Alegria. Any member found to be in violation will be subject to termination of membership. I understand there are no refunds for dues, purchases, or other expenses related to the Krewe of Alegria for any unforeseen occurrence. The Krewe of Alegria reserves the right to use any photograph or video taken at any event sponsored by the Krewe for media purposes (i.e. parades, socials, and group photos). |
